The incidents and mortality rates are higher for Non-white, colored, woman. Therefore if you are black, brown, Mexican, Salvadorean, Guatemalan, Puerto Rican, Colombian, Nicaraguan, etc. Literally anyone that is not white is subject to neglect higher than white woman. 

This reality concerns me as a Mexican Salvadorean Woman, I grew up in the USA I am a American Citizen born here in Los Angeles, CA.

Mommies and daddies' are fundamental for Child rearing and care. Daddies are just as important as mommies. Daddies have an important role to play during pregnancy by being as present as possible. Providing financial and emotional support to mom. When the baby is born, dads need to be part of the child raising process such as bathing, changing diapers, feeding and more etc.

Whether or not your own father figure was in the picture or not being a part of your child's life is crucial to their bonding. The first 0 to 5 years of a child's life needs have to be met physically, emotionally your child needs to know that you will be there to protect, provide and love them no matter what. This is the core foundation of any child's life.
